<image:caption>TRIBUTE TO MAGDALENA TRUEL (2021) Situated in Yitzhak Rabin Park, Miraflores, Lima Peru. This educated and brave Peruvian young woman living in Paris defied the Nazis during their occupation in her own personal ways. She wrote articles against the occupation for the underground press. She forged documents and ID cards to save lives, largely for Jews trying to escape. She saved infants, toddlers and children, led them to safety and they all survived. She did not. She was captured, tortured and sent to a concentration camp. She died on the death march just hours before they were liberated. I symbolized all she had done. She is sitting confident and defiant on a pile of books, holding her weapon – a huge realistic pen. At the base she is surrounded by children’s footprints in the cement, leading them to safety. Her footprints disappear in the cement. There is no face on the monument because nobody knew her identity until she was discovered in the archives in Paris in 2006.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Abstract</image:title>
<image:caption>HARMONY This sculpture was in an international exhibit in Finland. Our American group’s theme was Harmony. I called it seeing with our hearts, which in my opinion brings about harmony in relationships. The smooth flowing lines of the eyes, with shiny black pupils in one continuous line into merge into an open heart. There is no beginning or end to this combined continuous flow from eyes to heart. This shape and this concept could be created as a large outdoor sculpture or as a tiny pendant with green or blue eyes.</image:caption>

<image:caption>BREAKING UP The beautiful stone is the start of a beautiful relationship. There are multiple layers in the relationship. Then cracks appear, then slashes and breakages, and finally the parting. Each one goes in a different direction. It’s a sad, bewildering, and unhappy experience. The only thing I did was carved the eyes. The rest is in the stone. I stood it upright to show both sides of the story.</image:caption>

<image:caption>GRIEF Here is a couple in grief so deep that they can’t give or even accept support. Their heads are turned away from each other. Their arms though touching are hanging limp or slack. Their bodies are barely touching. What I had in mind are people surviving the loss of a loved one, a couple in mourning. Could be a powerful reminder at a cemetery or museum to the Holocaust or victims of terrorism. Indoors or in public outdoor spaces.</image:caption>
